Our Story

In 2001, the original Mustard Seed Cafe was opened in Redmond, Oregon by the Perkins Family. The Mustard Seed Cafe went on to win several awards as Redmond’s best. After 2 years, the Perkins sold everything and set off for Nicaragua to become missionaries. During their 12 year stay in Nicaragua, Southern Hills sent multiple groups a year and built a partnership with the people of Aduana Dos, quickly creating a sponsorship program. In 2018, the Perkins moved back to the United States to help launch the Mustard Seed Cafe in Carrollton, GA.

In 2022, Southern Hills purchased the Mustard Seed Mission in Nicaragua and began managing the cafe. Camille Langley currently serves as the Director of the Cafe, leading the charge in winning several awards and initiating the "Pay It Forward" program. In Nicaragua, we continue to develop relationships with the people of Aduana Dos and have expanded our efforts to Santa Barbara. Through our sponsorship program, we help kids receive an education and stay in contact with their families year round.
